Privacy-First Design

LifeJourney is a privacy-first journaling app. Your data stays on your device and in your private iCloud account. We never see, access, or share your data with anyone.

Introduction

LifeJourney ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

All your data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData (Apple's modern data persistence framework).

iCloud Sync

  • Data syncs only through your private iCloud account
  • All iCloud data is end-to-end encrypted by Apple
  • We do not have access to your iCloud data
  • You can disable iCloud sync in iOS Settings

No External Servers

  • We do not operate any backend servers
  • We do not store your data on any external databases
  • We do not have access to your data

Third-Party Integrations

LifeJourney may integrate with third-party services only with your explicit permission. All integration data is stored locally on your device and in your private iCloud account. We never share your data with third parties.

WHOOP Integration

When you connect your WHOOP account, LifeJourney accesses your WHOOP data through the official WHOOP API using secure OAuth 2.0 authentication. We access:

  • •Recovery scores (0-100%)
  • •Strain scores (0-21)
  • •Sleep performance metrics and sleep stages (Light, Deep/Slow-Wave, REM)
  • •Workout and activity data
  • •Heart rate variability (HRV RMSSD), resting heart rate, and respiratory rate
  • •Blood oxygen levels (SpO2) and skin temperature (WHOOP 4.0 devices only)
  • •Sleep quality metrics (efficiency, consistency, disturbances)

WHOOP Data Disclosure: This data is stored locally on your device and synced to your private iCloud account. We do not share this data back to WHOOP or any other third parties. You can disconnect your WHOOP account at any time. Disconnecting does not delete previously synced data from your journal.

HealthKit Integration

When you grant HealthKit permission, we access health metrics you authorize including:

  • •Steps
  • •Sleep hours
  • •Heart rate and resting heart rate
  • •Weight measurements
  • •Exercise minutes and mindfulness minutes

Note: Weight data may be written back to HealthKit when you manually enter it. All HealthKit data remains on your device and in your iCloud Health data. We do not share HealthKit data with any third parties.

Trakt Integration

When you connect your Trakt account, we access your movie and TV show watch history to display in your journal timeline. This includes:

  • •Watch dates and times
  • •Show and movie titles, seasons, and episodes

This data is stored locally and synced to your private iCloud. You can disconnect at any time.

Location & Weather Data

With your permission, we use your location to fetch current weather conditions for your journal entries.

  • •Location is used only at the moment you create or view a journal entry
  • •Location data is not stored or tracked
  • •Weather information is cached with your journal entry

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to:

  • •Display your journal entries with associated health metrics and context
  • •Generate charts, statistics, and insights about your health and wellness trends
  • •Sync your data across your Apple devices via your private iCloud account
  • •Provide personalized features based on your preferences and settings

We do NOT:

  • ✗Use your data for advertising
  • ✗Sell or rent your data
  • ✗Share your data with third parties
  • ✗Track your behavior or collect analytics
  • ✗Train AI models on your personal data

Your Rights and Control

Access and Modify

  • •View all your data within the app
  • •Edit or delete any journal entry, mood, or measurement
  • •Export your data through iOS data export features

Integration Control

  • •Connect or disconnect WHOOP at any time
  • •Connect or disconnect Trakt at any time
  • •Enable or disable HealthKit access at any time
  • •Revoke location permissions at any time

Data Deletion

  • •Delete individual entries or data points
  • •Clear all data by uninstalling the app
  • •Manage iCloud data through iOS Settings

Children's Privacy

LifeJourney is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through the app, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to remove such information.

Data Retention

While App is Installed

Your data is retained indefinitely on your device and in your iCloud account until you delete it.

After Uninstalling

  • •Local data: Automatically deleted from your device
  • •iCloud data: Remains in your iCloud account (managed through iOS Settings)
  • •Third-party accounts: Your WHOOP and Trakt accounts remain unchanged
